Finding Peace with Charlie Kirk

It sure has been a rough time this year.  I really thought this year was going to be spectacular and finally peace among us.  How naive I still am.  Or is it the Pollyanna in me.

Seeing Charlie Kirk get assassinated shook me and many others to the core.  I loved Charlie and what he stood for and yet!  I am so surprised at exactly how many people he touched.  Behind the scenes he was such a testament of who we should be.  He was genuinely GOOD!  How many times from thousands of friends did they say how he checked in on them and the encouragement he shared with them.

Now Revivals are breaking out and the younger generation is praising God in millions.  Does it make you think about yourself and how you make a difference in people’s lives?  Do you realize that your kindness and friendship is so much more powerful than you think?

When we want to mourn and hide away, we are being called to action.  Action with Praise and Glory to our Savior Jesus Christ.  Also to have JOY in our lives.  Charlie spoke on this.  We are to be and show our best selves.

I’m going to try my best.  When I’m down or frustrated, I’m going to think of Charlie and his beautiful wife and children and show my best self.  I owe this to him.  We owe this to our God.  Charlie showed us it’s not as hard as we think.

Thank you God for your disciple Charlie.  Thank you for sharing this GOOD and KIND MAN!  God bless all who read this and make the decision to communicate better and show your best self while talking complete truth!

Looly Goes to School

Looly started school!  She is going to a Special Needs Preschool to get speech therapy, occupational  therapy and physical therapy.  She was leary after the first day but once she saw her ole favorite Physical Therapist, Matt, the game was on! Matt is a young man that is married with two daughters.  He loves Kate.  He calls her turkey and she squeals with happiness.  When we first saw him after a year break, she actually kissed his cheek.  Matt has all of Kate's respect.  Matt challenges and pushes her to do better.  Sometimes there is even tears, but she will work hard for him.  By the next week he will see improvement.  It makes us all laugh at her stubborn determination to "show Matt!" This past week we were made aware through the speech therapist that they rang a bell directly behind Looly and she didn't flinch or turn to look.  So we made an appointment with a hearing specialist.  I do not believe she is 100% deaf...

Happy Birthday Mom!

As soon as I said that my goal this Lent was to find an inner peace by Easter Sunday, my world turned very stressful. My siblings and I planned an 80th birthday party for my Mom.  Since I was a small child, I love birthdays...expecially mine!  Age is just a number, right?  Anyway, we had her party at a great Irish Pub called Riley's Pour House Website  in Carnegie, PA.  I love this pub! I love the owner Jim Riley because he has a great sense of humor and is very kind.  I still think that if you own an Irish Pub then you should be able to play the Bagpipes, right Jim Riley?  If your searching for an Irish Pub with great food and entertainment, not to mention the crowd of great people, then definitely stop at Riley's! The party was packed at noon, on a Sunday, during a snow storm.  That is how our family rules.  Half a foot of snow?  Who cares!  My Mom thought she was having lunch with her children and grandchildren.  It...
